SAMPLE ITINERARY:

~ DAY 1 ~ Portland to Columbia River Gorge/ Mt. Hood

  • Route: (weekdays-8:45-4:30pm; weekends 9:45-5:30pm (preferred) or 8:30-4:00pm).  For the weekend brunch cruise (8:30-4:00pm).

    • Visit the Columbia River Gorge waterfalls.

    • Snack Bar lunch or restaurant stop at Multnomah Falls.

    • Afternoon sightseeing cruise on the Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge or...for weekends...sightseeing cruise or Sunday brunch cruise.

    • Tour and brewmasters lunch at Full Sail Brewing in Hood River if you skip the Sternwheeler cruise.

    • Timberline Lodge – dinner at the Cascade dining room or lodge at the Silcox Hut (right).*

    • In addition, your group will have plenty of 'down time' when you won't be with your guide and your able to just enjoy where you are and what your doing alone with your friends or family.

* Timberline lodge lodging is for a 2+ day journey. The Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge Sightseeing Cruise ($30) operates May-October Weekdays May-October 1:00pm-3:00pm; Saturday, Sunday 10:00am-Noon & 2:00pm-4:00pm.  Sunday brunch cruise ($52) operates 10-12 noon.  Tour will start 4 hours 15 minutes before the departure of the Columbia Sternwheeler Cruise. Cascade dining room $30-$44 per entrée (appetizers, soups & salads and desserts are extra).  Lesser expensive options are available in either the Blue Ox Bar or Rams Head Bar.  Winemaker’s Dinner Series - Chairlift or snow-cat to Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge for the Winemaker's Dinner Series prepared by chef Jason Stoller Smith ($175 pp).  Lodging at Timberline Lodge is $145-$210 for a Chalet bunk bed room for 2-10 ppl.  Or $125 pp (single bed) -$140 pp (2 beds) for up to 2 ppl. Your guide accommodations are estimated at $95. For large groups, request the Silcox Hut for overnight lodging at 7,500 feet on Mt. Hood for that extra special adventure ($150 - $195 per person; 12-18 person min chg required. Included is transportation between Timberline and Silcox, dinner, bedding, overnight, and breakfast. ~ DAY 2 ~ Mt Hood to Willamette Valley

  • Route:

    • Breakfast at Timberline Lodge & ride on the Magic Mile chairlift to Silcox Hut (if available).

    • Willamette Valley Wine tasting with several (4) of our favorite exclusive off-the-beaten-track wineries.*

    • Picnic Lunch at one of our favorite wineries in the summer.  Fall & winter we will stop at one of our favorite wineries or wine country cafes or restaurants.*

    • In addition, your group will have plenty of 'down time' when you won't be with your guide and you're able to just enjoy where you are and what your doing alone with your friends or family.

  • Sleep: Head back home or sleep at the cool Hotel Oregon*, Willamette Valley Wine Country and go on to day #3 with a Dinner at Thistle or Bistro Maison (French Bistro) in McMinnville, one of the 6 foodiest towns.

*Wine tasting fees are estimated at $60 pp for the day. Hotel Oregon is estimated at $135 per couple. Your driver/guide accommodations are estimated at $95-$180.

2 DAY PRICE:  $150-$360 ALL-INCLUSIVE tour cost PP + EXPENSES. For a custom tour, please contact us for a price quote.

~ DAY 3 ~ Willamette Valley to Oregon Coast

  • Route:

    • Breakfast at the Hotel Oregon or other fine McMinnville Restaurant.

    • Head to the coast to Pacific City, the 3 Capes Route, Cape Mears and the start of our Oregon Coast Tour.

    • Then to Garibaldi for a 1-Hour Bay Tour ($40) or 2 hour whale watching/eco tour for large groups with Garibaldi Fishing Charters in Tillamook Bay. Salmon/Halibut and deep sea fishing/Oregon Dungeness crabbing are also available/seasonal and are at additional cost. (Alternatively; we would head south from Cannon Beach on the Coast Tour 2-3 Day Getaway.)

    • To Seaside & Cannon Beach, Ecola State Park & Astoria

    • Fort Clatsop

    • Seafood dinner with the Rising Star Cafe, Mo's Chowder, Newman’s at 988 in Cannon Beach or BRIDGEwater Bistro or Clemente’s Seafood in Astoria*SEE BELOW

    • In addition, your group will have plenty of 'down time' when you won't be with your guide and your able to just enjoy where you are and what your doing alone with your friends or family.

  • Sleep: Return to Portland or sleep at the Cannery Pier Hotel, Astoria, the Astoria Crest Motel ($100) or another Astoria Hotel/motel. Or the Ocean Lodge, Cannon Beach, Stephanie Inn, Cannon Beach, the historic Gearhart Hotel or another lodging of your choice.

  • *Eats:

    • Mo's Chowder - Tolovana Park, Cannon Beach; offers good grub and their classic clam chowder was featured as one of the Smithsonian's "Best American Regional Foods".

    • Rising Star Cafe - offers gourmet seafood in Wheeler.

    • Fisherman's Korner - Geribaldi; offers just some good grub and great clam chowder and halibut fish & chips meals.

    • The Fish Peddler @ Pacific Oyster Co. (5150 Hayes Oyster Dr. Bay City) - Voted by the Portland Business Journal as one of Oregon's Most Admired Companies.  "...but the Clam Chowder is still probably the Best I have ever had. We also had the baked oysters in the shell and they were excellent and fresh served on a bed of Salt which I think is very cool.”   "Best chowdah on the North Coast, probably the whole coast and likely the whole planet.  Every visit to Oregon Coast includes a trip to Pacific Oyster.  Have I mentioned their chowder?   Yeah.  It's good."  "First and foremost, Pacific Oyster is a seafood processing plant. You'll know it by the smell wafting up from the water and the piles of oyster shells on the ground nearby... The ambiance of the "dining room" is similar to that of a snack bar and while you eat you can watch the oysters being packed to be shipped all over the country. But you don't come to Pacific Oyster for the ambiance, you come for the super fresh, amazingly cheap seafood (think 12 oysters for $18!)

    • Chef John Newman of Newman’s at 988 (French Italian Cuisine) in Cannon Beach offers fine dining.

    ASTORIA:

    • Clemente’s Seafood – The incredibly fresh, regional cuisine of Clemente’s is served up in a smartly decorated historic downtown location. Local art adorns the walls and a very comfortable Martini Bar and lounge area anchors the rear of the restaurant.

    • BRIDGEwater Bistro – The BRIDGEwater is a place where you can get a casual meal, a formal dinner, or just happy hour. They offer everything from nicely priced sandwiches, salads, mussel and clam chowder and burgers, all the way up to exquisitely plated tapas, spice-encrusted duck breast and fresh Columbia R. Salmon!

    • Or another Astoria restaurant.

    • Astoria (oldest town west of the Rockies) Riverwalk & Historic Trolley, Fort Astoria, Fort Clatsop, Astoria Column & Cape Disappointment Lighthouse or Columbia River Eco Tours – Rain or Shine... A Great Adventure ....in Astoria.

    • Or head home or finish off your tour with the Portland Tour options (City, wineries, breweries, distilleries etc.)

    • In addition, your group will have plenty of 'down time' when you won't be with your guide and your able to just enjoy where you are and what your doing alone with your friends or family.

    • We'll return to Portland by about 6 p.m. and deliver you to your Portland hotel or the airport to end your Ultimate Oregon Getaway Tour.

This total breaks down to $256 pp per day tour cost or $307 all-inclusive (includes driver/guide gratuity, 2 person & multi-day discounts of 20% off) per person per day + personal expenses (lodging/dining) which we estimate at $300 pp ($100 pp per night) + meals if you choose the standard room (moderate lodging; 1 room private; bathroom down the hall) 4 day/3 night tour. Driver/guide expenses we estimate at $75 per day (Ex. A 2/day & 1/night tour would cost $150 total estimated driver/guide expense). Wine tasting fees are $60 pp. Sternwheeler Cruise on the Columbia is $30 pp. Garibaldi 1 hour bay tour is $40. When you book, then we will book accommodations and additions (options), confirm lodging costs/other costs and have an exact cost. Any significant changes in lodging costs/guide expenses/other costs and we will contact you before final booking. 5% cash discount applies.
